We were delighted to bring together cast and crew, along with BMRU students who contributed to the soundtrack, of the hit BBC show Boarders, at an exclusive screening at Regent Street Cinema earlier this month (3rd of April). Guests were treated to live performances of songs from the show, an insight into working in television music with Dr Mykaell Riley and music supervisor Carmen Montanez-Callan, as well as a screening of the season’s final episode. Amongst attendees were cast members Jodie Campbell, Myles Kamwendo and Aruna Jalloh, as well as esteemed guest Norton York, founder of Rockschool. The founder of the music course at the University of Westminster, Norton came along not only to celebrate the achievements of our students and the success of Boarders, but to honour Mykaell with a prestigious Rockschool Fellowship.
This event represents a collaboration between the BMRU and CREAM, the Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media at the University of Westminster. We want to thank everyone who invested their time and effort into the organisation of the day, as well as all of our wonderful students and colleagues who attended.
